My name is Dan Fremuth and I’m an avid Philadelphia sports fan. Born and raised in Malvern, PA, I’m a lifetime supporter of the Phillies, Flyers, Eagles, the Phanatic and true Philly cheesesteaks.
In addition to supporting our hometown teams, I am a sports broadcaster currently working for the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League. I began broadcasting in 2004 with the Billings Bulls of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) and also worked for the Amarillo Gorillas of the Central Hockey League (CHL). I am now in the midst of my fifth season in Omaha.
I graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Top 5 Favorite Philly Athletes: John LeClair, Chase Utley, Keith Primeau, Jim Thome and John Kruk
Favorite Philly Sports Memories: Brad Lidge striking out Erik Hinske to win the 2008 World Series (yes, I admit it, I cried), Staying up until 2:30 in the morning (who cares that high school finals were the next day) with my dad to watch Keith Primeau score in the fifth overtime to defeat the Penguins in Game 4 of the 2000 Eastern Conference Semifinals, Claude Giroux’s overtime winner in Game 3 of the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals (I was there!), Jim Thome’s 400th career home run (I was there for this too!), 4th & 26
Tragic Philly Sports Memories: Ripping up each and every Mitch Williams’ baseball card I had after the gopherball to Joe Carter in ’93, Darren McCarty undressing the entire Flyers team in the ’97 Stanley Cup Finals, Flyers falling in the 2010 Finals on the cheesiest ending to a Stanley Cup game ever, 2001 NFC Championship, 2002 NFC Championship, 2003 NFC…you get the idea
